2008 Vice Presidential Debate - Who Won?

I missed the US Vice Presidential Debate Thursday night but I caught snippets yesterday morning on C-SPAN.

There is something about Ms. Palin that I can see that would attract some people, however, there is something about her that reminds me of Mr. Cheney. Something I can’t put my finger on, but I know I don’t like it.

C-Span allows people to call in and one caller got my goat near the end of the first half hour after the replay of the debate. During the half hour I was listening to the other callers and for the most part they seemed fair in their responses. Blog posts and the media seemed to be, for the most part fair. I am sure Gwen Ifill was fair. Yes, there are extremeists, but they are in the minority. Anyway, this one caller couldn’t understand why everyone was picking on Ms. Palin.

Excuse me? Read the papers and blogs. They are overwhelmingly fair giving credit where due and pointing out problems with both VP candidates.

I know when I talk with people I don’t know I try to be diplomatic when our opinions aren’t the same. I spoke more frankly with my friends. When it comes down to it - and this is documented - the Republicans try to stir controversy going in to something so that if it doesn’t go their way they can cry foul! Look at how this was handled! We weren’t given a fair shake!

It seems that Gwen Ifills’ book was the target of the latest attempt to swing things their way. Which brings up another thing - how do these people know what is in the book when it isn’t on the market yet? They were saying she says this and that and it is all about Barak Obama and on and on and on.

I am really fed up with the Republican party. Don’t get me wrong - it is the higher ups in the party and not the average citizen member that I am fed up with.
