Obama equals McCain equals Bush?

I told you in an earlier article that Barak Obama, I felt, had changed since the 2004 speech he gave at the Democratic Convention. I also told you that I couldn't put my finger on it. I said I wouldn't vote for John McCain because he is too much like George Bush. Watch this video as it answered my uneasiness about what had changed with Barak Obama.

If you think your vote doesn't matter listen to this one.

Do you think the financial bailout was wrong? Listen to this one.

Do you think corporations shouldn't have our constitutional rights? Check this one out.

I believe it is the job of our elected officials to not espouse what they think they should do if elected. I believe it is their job to listen to what the people want and work like hell to make it happen.

Case in point is the legalization of abortion. President Jimmy carter was against it but the majority of the people were for it. He signed the bill and then set up Planned Parenthood - whose goal is to provide counseling and options as way way to help avoid abortions. He listened to the people. There was also a gas crisis and people wanted to become energy independent. He started us down that road and even took the first step by installing solar panels on the White House. He listened to the people.

That is how our elected officials should do their job. I say this with two exceptions - elected law enforcement and judges who should remain neutral and follow the law not any agenda from any political party.
